Casa del Caribe Inn

The room was nice, with a big bed and air conditioning. I spent four nights here, and the location made it easy to get to the beach and nearby shops. They were painting the hotel during my stay, but it didn’t interfere with my visit. The shower dripped, which was a bit annoying, though closing the bathroom door kept the sound out. It could be hard to find someone at the front desk sometimes, but when I reached someone, they were helpful and nice.

Stay away! I called before arriving to say I’d be checking in late, and they told me that was fine. But when I got there around 11:30 PM, the doors were locked. I called and was told my reservation had been canceled and there were no rooms. We were left outside with nowhere to stay that night. The next day, the front desk promised a refund, but it never came. My bank even contacted the hotel and got someone there to authorize it. The bank needed the hotel to approve the refund by email, and they keep rejecting the request. It seems like they still don’t want to return my money. Today, someone hung up on me. The whole experience felt dishonest and unprofessional.

We stayed January 8 through the 11th, and the website photos didn’t match what was happening at the property. It was under construction, with work starting early and continuing all day. The place was messy, and room 12 looked questionable in terms of whether it had been renovated. The sink drained poorly, and the room was only somewhat comfortable. It definitely wasn’t worth $200 a night. There was no one at the front desk when we arrived, so we had to call and wait about 20 minutes for someone to show up. Staff weren’t on site around the clock. Guests in room 11 were extremely noisy, with no consideration for the other three rooms that seemed usable. Without staff around, they partied through the night.

A really bad experience from the start. No one answered the gate when we arrived, so I called the number on a piece of paper taped there. They told us to go to a different property two blocks away. I’d just taken an Uber to the place I reserved and had four pieces of luggage, but they simply said we should take a taxi or wait for pickup. Eventually someone walked over to lead us there, so we had to walk those two blocks with all our bags. No one apologized. At the other place they said we were getting an upgrade. It was a terrible one: the room was dirty and smelled bad, faced a kitchen, and had a very dirty bathroom. I wouldn’t recommend Casa del Caribe or Canario Boutique Hotel. Cero disregard for
