Casa Los Cummins

Jessica and Diana made sure our stay was memorable, with great communication and service that went above and beyond. Casa Sevilla is a gem, with each room put together in its own way and lots of thoughtful, creative touches. I rarely return to the same place when I travel, but I'll make a point of staying here next time I visit.

After our cruise, my boyfriend, mom, and I spent one night in the Flamingo penthouse suite. We arrived early and were grateful we could leave our bags so we could go to the beach. The old 1920's house is beautiful, though there are lots of stairs, so it won't suit you if mobility is an issue. Our suite was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated, with a lovely patio, kitchen, private bathroom, king bed, and twin bed. There's another rooftop patio above ours where guests from the other rooms can meet. There was everything we needed, but water is $2.00 US a bottle and they leave only two in the room, so I'd pick up a case at the CVS down the street. Breakfast was thoughtful, with bread, homemade jam, fruit, juice, and more. The woman who runs the hotel was welcoming, kind, and informative, and did what she could to make things great. Thanks for having us.

The studio looked clean, though it wasn't much to look at. The remotes had weak batteries, and the A/C worked fine. There's no kitchen unless you count cooking in the microwave. The place is overpriced compared with other properties, and it's really for people using UBER or taxis since there are no parking spots, despite what the VRBO/Hotel app says. The host barely communicated until the day before arrival, and the cell phone was out of service.

This is about the Gallito studio, not the main house or Coqui studio. Placita is walkable, and Viejo San Juan and the beaches are a short, affordable Uber ride away. It's a safe area, the location is great, and the property manager was responsive. I'd definitely stay at Casa Sevilla again, though next time I'd probably choose Coqui studio. We stayed there one night, and it has a ceiling fan over the bed, a bathroom door, and a quieter bed. A few small things brought this stay down a bit. The shower took several minutes to get warm, which felt wasteful, even if I'd put up with it camping. The bathroom entrance curtain didn't bother me, but my girlfriend felt it didn't give enough privacy. And the bed creaked loudly whenever either of us moved, so getting up at night risked waking everyone.
