Casa Wilson Inn

After a day in the city, the back patio was a lovely place to unwind, with a pool, sofas, and a relaxed feel. Breakfast was tasty, with fresh fruit and home-cooked food. It's a no-frills hotel in a great location, and I felt safe and comfortable. We got a sale price, because at the higher tourist-season rates it seemed a bit overpriced.

The location is amazing, within walking distance of everything, and the staff were relaxed, attentive, and ready to help. But the cleanliness of the rooms, pool, and bathrooms was questionable. There was a lot of mold in the pool, and in our first-floor room, dust on the lamps, ceiling fan, and under the bed set off my allergies. The bathroom had mold too, and its faucet kept dripping. There was no hand soap in any bathroom, including the lobby hallway, so they gave us little all-in-one shampoo, conditioner, and body wash bottles to use. The bed and pillows were so uncomfortable that extra pillows we requested didn't help. Great location and friendly staff, but the place needs a serious clean-up.

A quick drive gets you to the airport or Old San Juan. Casa Wilson is an old hotel with plenty of charm. The staff were helpful and friendly, and our room felt sweet, comfortable, and charming.

The air conditioning didn't seem to work properly, which left the room a bit uncomfortable at times. Even so, we had a very positive stay at Casa Wilson, a peaceful, cozy place that works well for a short, laid-back visit. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the property felt clean and safe throughout. Breakfast is included, simple but satisfying, and the small pool is a nice spot to relax, even though it's not for serious swimming.
