Hospedaje Primavera

After my flight was delayed, I couldn't get into the place because check-in ended at 8 pm. I was genuinely worried about being outside the "hotel" until a local found me and managed to reach someone who let me in. I'd booked two nights through hotels.com, but refused to stay the second night. The room was 95 degrees at night with a broken AC. It smelled like raw sewage, had bugs and spiders, no bathroom door, a broken sink, and a shower that wouldn't turn off. The pictures don't accurately show the place. Rather than refunding me, they wanted to charge a $20 cleaning fee. That room needs more than $20 worth of cleaning. Hotels.com offered a $25 voucher usable only on its site, so I'm avoiding both from now on.

This was the worst experience of my life. We arrived at 4, but everything was locked and there was no front desk. We had to go to the front bar to find someone, and the people there were drunk. We were told we'd have to speak Spanish and pay her $20 or buy a beer to get in. Once we found a translator, she gave the room code to everyone outside, but still didn't unlock the door. We spent eight hours on the street until we found somewhere else to stay, and our money was wasted. The listing's pictures are a lie, and the area felt full of addicts and drunks. The translator, Richard, was kind enough to help us find another place, and even he said it would be unsafe for us there. Expedia or the room never called me back, replaced my money, or offered any care. This shouldn't even be listed on Expedia. If you book here, you could end up locked out or waking up to drunk strangers in your room. I cried and cried.

We were assigned room #4 even though we'd booked room #1. It was much smaller and dirtier, had no bathroom door, a broken bathroom light, and half the room lights didn't work. Booking online required a card, but in person we were charged an extra $5 for using a credit card, or told to go get cash. The man checking us in seemed high, drunk, or both, and the music from downstairs was extremely loud. I wouldn't recommend it if you need sleep or are a light sleeper. The shared balcony was an interesting place to watch the neighborhood, but we tried not to leave our things in the room in case someone got in while we were gone. I can't wait to leave. Save your $100. In the States this room would realistically cost $30-35 a night. It was dirty and questionable enough that I'd recommend shower shoes. There were random sinks and toilets tucked throughout the hotel. Definitely interesting, but not in a good way.
