Hotel Miramar

It's been over a month of trying to get answers, and I still don't have any. I was promised a full refund for the room, and Eli said he'd initiated it, but that was a bold-faced lie. He's stopped replying, and there's a new boss now who probably has no idea what's going on. Eli and his boss seemed sympathetic at first, then completely neglected the situation. My friend and I went out for the day and came back to get ready for dinner, only to find my gold necklace and hoop earrings gone. Someone had taken my jewelry. Shoutout to housekeeping for coming in, taking my things, and not even leaving fresh towels. The hotel's staff are shady, fake, and incompetent. I'm beyond disappointed and would never recommend this hotel.

The ocean view was great, and the location works well for getting to Old San Juan, Condado, and Escambron, either on foot in 5-30 minutes or by Uber. But our room smelled strongly of mildew or mold, and on the last day we saw mold inside the AC unit. The bed was so uncomfortable I could feel the springs. The shower handle looked snapped in half, the warm water turned cold within a minute, and the drain took several minutes. The outlet by the counter didn't work, and there was no soundproofing, so we heard cars, conversations, music, and the couple arguing in the room above us. There's no shuttle service. The gym, laundry, and rooftop were closed while we were there.

The area felt safe to us, with lots of restaurants nearby and Condado Beach within walking distance. The rooms were in poor condition, though, and the Wi-Fi wasn't good at all. We first stayed on the sixth floor and got no Wi-Fi up there, with no signal for TV or our phones. I don't think I'll stay here again.

We felt lucky to find a room during the shutdown, but it was very overpriced for what we got. I'd stay again if I had to. The TV was nice, though you needed your own logins for the apps. The location made it easy to walk to food and wasn't far from the airport, but the neighborhood felt kind of sketchy. The room was spacious but old and dirty, and the mattress springs pressed into my back. The brown, worn nonslip bathmat, broken soap dispenser, and lack of a bathroom fan didn't help. The barn door didn't offer much sound blocking or privacy, and the paper-thin wall to the hall meant we heard everything outside.
