For a property charging $280 a night, I expected basic cleanliness, especially since I was traveling with family. We arrived to visible hygiene problems, including what looked like lizard droppings, and it seemed the place hadn't been properly cleaned or inspected. When I brought this up, the manager, Angel, replied, “Welcome to tropical weather.” That doesn't explain failing to clean and prepare a property before guests arrive. The communication was dismissive and unprofessional, which made an already frustrating situation worse. Guests paying premium rates deserve respect and reasonable service. I wouldn't stay again, and I'd caution families to think carefully before booking. I'm also disappointed in Expedia for allowing listings that don't meet basic quality standards, and think there should be stricter minimum requirements for family rentals. I'm very unhappy with the experience. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay at Star of Olympus in San Juan was extremely disappointing. I wish I could give zero stars.

Angel was friendly, quick to respond, and made me feel welcome at this lovely Airbnb in San Juan. The place was very clean, with a modern bathroom, air conditioning, and a small kitchenette that worked perfectly for my stay. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Puerto Rico!

The sheets and towels were disgusting, and the room had a dirty dish rag and mop bucket in it. There was a trash can beside the bed and pillow catching water leaking from the A/C. The shower was a suicide shower. I checked in at 1 a.m., so there wasn't anything I could do at the time. I tried to get my money back for the second night, but the owner hung up on me. He knows it's a dump. Read the other reviews. Happy to send photos if asked.

It's a very basic room, but quite close to Old San Juan and within about 10 minutes of the main spots. It's also near the airport. There was no hot water, soap, or shampoo, and the beds squeaked. Check-in later in the evening can be difficult unless you coordinate well with the owner. There are no guaranteed parking spaces, so you have to look for street parking. They do have two spots on a first-come, first-served basis, and I got one because the building wasn't busy the day I went. I'd recommend staying if you come with basic expectations and aren't looking for luxury.

A clean, lovely, cozy studio with the basic things you need. The owner and staff were friendly and nice. It's in a quiet, central area close to everything in San Juan. I'd recommend it!
