We left early today, and I felt relieved. Thankfully nobody was hurt, but the stay was a positive traumatic experience for us. I was focused on trying to find some sense of safety the whole time and never managed to. I consider the place highly unsafe, and the army guard and several Jewish staff members agreed with that feeling. The pool was also a letdown, with wild teenagers behaving badly and no authority to rein them in. Some things here might have been nice, but under those circumstances I couldn't appreciate any of them. Soon after arriving, I was stunned to find that workers were being housed in the same areas rented to tourists. That alone wouldn't have made me write a one-star review, which I never do. But they bothered my kids with street noises and looks, and were smoking drugs out in the open on the front porch, leaving all of us feeling unsafe. Management said they would move the workers, but didn't follow through. I then contacted the army guard and the police, but neither effort made things feel safer. In fact, once the situation was out in the open, we felt even less safe. It was a frightening and very unfortunate experience, and an eye-opener to the much bigger problem Israel has today.
