Belver Boa Vista Hotel & Spa - Adults Only

The walk from town is very steep, so it may be difficult for some people, and the hotel feels dated. Otherwise, it was clean and quiet, with staff who made us feel very welcome. We appreciated the free parking in April, and the balcony view from our twin room was amazing. We didn't get to try the restaurant, spa, including the free sauna and hammam, or pool, though the facilities looked great. Breakfast was very good, with an English breakfast choice and a range of pastries.

The location worked well, and our room was clean and a decent size. The staff were friendly, and both breakfast and the pool were satisfactory. It’s a lovely place for a short stay, though I’d rate it three stars at most rather than four.

The sea view and easy walk to Albufeira old town were highlights, and the staff were friendly. The hotel was generally clean, though the rooms and facilities feel dated and could use renovation. For the price it was decent, but it didn’t feel like a proper four-star stay.

The pool was lovely, and the location was great, although the area is a bit hilly, as expected. Staff were pleasant, but after we raised our concerns, we felt they gave us the cold shoulder for the rest of the stay. We did get moved to a better room after speaking to them, and that room was adequate, though still below what we expected from a four-star hotel. We wouldn’t stay here again, even though we’d happily return to Portugal. We’d booked half board. Breakfast was fair, but basic things like plates and glasses were missing, and the evening meals were poor. We tried eating there twice, then had to eat elsewhere at extra cost. The photos online also didn’t match the room or hotel overall. Our first room had two single beds instead of the double we’d booked. The patio door had no handle and kept jamming. When we finally got onto the balcony, a digger was just feet away, with dust and debris all over it. I understand the construction wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but guests should be told before arrival, or at least when they check in. We stayed five nights, and this definitely wasn’t the four-star hotel advertised. The place could make a big difference with some investment.
