Hotel Da Gale

We arrived to find room 306 very humid, and the wardrobe smelled of mold. During our stay, water from room 407 above us came through the bathroom light. We complained at reception, but the hotel was full so we couldn't change rooms. We had to spend the night in the wet, smelly room. The next morning the manager spent a long time explaining that his hotel was the cheapest in albufeira and that we couldn't get our money back. Absolutely not.

WARNING!!! This felt like a "MOB" operated business. We found strong "MOLD" in the room at check-in and couldn't stay there more than 10 minutes. When we asked for another room, we were refused. We asked for a refund and were refused that too. Instead, a group of aggressive men in the lobby took our room key by force and made us leave the hotel. I had to book another hotel and pay double. "BOOKING.COM" would not help us at all. Stay away and enjoy your holiday elsewhere!

We arrived a day later than planned because of circumstances we couldn't avoid. Although we'd paid in full, we found that the entire booking had been cancelled without warning. They offered no refund and gave us no help trying to sort it out. The staff were rude, dismissive and unhelpful as soon as we arrived. We tried to calmly explain what had happened, but got attitude and no empathy. Strict policies are one thing, but treating paying guests this way is another. We won't return, and I'd strongly advise others to think twice before booking.

The rooms were clean and MOST of the staff were lovely. I don't have many complaints, but check-in took a long time, and the front desk could use more people. When we came in at night, staff often asked our room number and who was in the room, and we were often stared at.
