Hotel Indigo Albufeira by IHG

A great breakfast, with plenty of gluten free choices, and the staff were pleasant and very helpful. The hotel was clean and well placed for Albufeira’s main attractions. Our room had a safe, steam iron, hairdryer, TV, coffee machine, fridge, slippers and dressing gowns. I’d definitely stay here again.

The hotel sits right on the party strip among the bars and clubs. For a quieter stay, ask for a room on the top floor. The main reception is up there too, since the building is set into the side of a hill. It has a breakfast area and a bar, plus two pools: an outdoor one measuring 15m x 15m and a smaller indoor one that’s 10m x 4m. We came from Lisbon by train and then took an Uber to the hotel. The journey was smooth and relaxing, around three hours.

The room was spacious and good for the price, and the noise didn’t bother me much. The shower area has no door, though, so cold air comes in easily. The location is great, close to the old town centre, and there’s a large car park a few minutes away that hotel guests can use for free.

The pool was large and clean, our room was spacious and comfortable, and the restaurant staff were very kind. Most of the staff were lovely, and the resort itself was beautiful. One female member of front staff, the one without glasses, was extremely rude to us. I saw her smile and treat white male guests nicely, but with us she had a cold expression, an irritated tone and seemed unwilling to help. Her attitude spoiled the otherwise good impression of the resort. It’s a shame one person’s unprofessional behavior overshadowed such a lovely place and kind staff.
