Amazigh Hostel

I needed somewhere to stay for one night while walking, and the hostel is conveniently located near the bus station, with a supermarket five minutes away. There were lots of flies in both the kitchen and rooms, even in March. I can't imagine what it must be like in summer.

Our room was small and simply furnished, but clean, with a private bathroom and the basics for a short stay, including steady Wi-Fi. Breakfast wasn't included. It could suit people who like hostels with a shared lounge and kitchen. We're an older couple accustomed to hotels with lifts and buffet breakfasts, at about the same price. Having to climb a metal staircase exposed to the rain with our luggage made this hostel feel too rough for the comfort we wanted. Basic, but clean and functional.

We were especially grateful to arrive with only five minutes' notice and still find a room ready. The woman at reception also gave us kind suggestions for dinner in Aljezur. The hostel is well organized and in a handy spot, with a large, comfortable room for a good price. We liked the shared spaces and meeting the other travelers, and coffee and tea at breakfast were free. We'd definitely recommend it.

The staff were really lovely, and so was the room. I stayed in a four-bed room with a toilet and shower inside, plus a sink in the bedroom. Having the sink in the bathroom would be better, since it would make less noise. Rainy weather made the lack of inviting common areas more noticeable. Most guests were walking the Fisherman's trail and left the next day, so it was hard to get to know people.
