We stopped by for a quick meal and were charmed by the friendly service and old fashioned hotel furnishings. Everything came out fast and hot, while the wine and water were nicely chilled. It felt like a peaceful weekend here in the old remains of a Portuguese fort would be lovely.

The hotel is a relaxing place with plenty of facilities, generous sized bedrooms, and lovely food. The town itself isn’t the best advert for Majorca, so I’d steer clear of it. There’s nicer scenery and beaches along the coast away from Santa Ponça.

Hard to beat for the price.

The prices are above the regional average, though the service is attentive and excellent. The Pousada restaurant was a great discovery, with regional Portuguese cooking and a small but nice wine selection. We had Alheira to start, then generous servings of cod and pork loin, with a bottle of Convento D'Aguiar Reserva (White, 2016) that gave the meal a classy finish.

The food was delicious, and our meal was made even nicer by a thoughtful, helpful waitress who spoke several languages.
