Franco da Serra Country House

Casa Franco da Serra gave us a real taste of Portuguese hospitality on our first trip to Portugal. The owner and her son were so kind and ready to help, and the whole family-run place felt warm and homely. We even got invited to a small family gathering over the weekend, where everyone was lovely and welcoming. For getting around, a car is handy since the hotel is a little outside the town center. We managed fine by bus, with a stop right in front of the house, then took a taxi back without any trouble. Look for Taxi 25 Angra do Heroismo. If you're visiting Terceira and want nature, peace, and time away from the crowds, I'd definitely recommend it.

Casa de Campo Franco da Serra and Terceira are easy to recommend. The island is beautiful, the people are friendly, and the food is amazing. The guesthouse sits at the edge of the village below striking hills, with views of the volcanic rock walls and lush island nature. Our only neighbors were cows, so a car is useful, though that's true across the island. We felt very comfortable here. The six-room house and garden are homely and tastefully kept, and our rooms were spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. Everyone working there was welcoming, helpful, and friendly.

Meeting and chatting with the owners was the highlight of our stay. This family-run place has a common area, and they're easy to ask if you need anything. The rooms are modern and fairly spacious, and there's a pool with plenty of room to relax. The renovated building has a rich history and sits in a quiet country setting surrounded by farms, not far from Angra. Breakfast was amazing. Highly recommend this B&B when visiting Terceira.

We stayed four nights and felt at home, with a kitchen and living room available to us, spaces the owners use too. The building has been renovated beautifully, the rooms are spacious, and the bathroom is nice. The mattresses were excellent, and the outdoor pool was a great extra. I highly recommend it.
