The beautiful valley views, spacious, well-equipped rooms, and excellent restaurant and spa made for a really enjoyable family stay. The restaurant food was high quality and service was great, though the menu leaned more toward adults than kids. The spa was quiet, relaxing, and well maintained. The outdoor pool isn't heated, which was a small disappointment. It was clear from the start that this hotel isn't really designed for children: there are no family rooms, and most of the other guests were couples. The hotel is at least 15 years old; it was very clean, though some areas could use maintenance and a refresh. Even with those drawbacks, we had a great time.

The indoor pool is incredible, especially since it's open 24 hours, and the pools, breakfast, location, and views were all great. The lifts areas and corridors felt a bit bare and almost hospital-like. More art would help. And that space by the big cork tree in the vineyards would be perfect for a lounge pergola. It seems a shame not to use it better.

A good hotel with an amazing view, a nice restaurant, and a garden you can walk around in. But you have to pay extra for the indoor pool, and swimming caps are compulsory. If you want to swim there, you have to buy one for 5€ at the hotel. The outdoor pool doesn't seem to require one. The funniest part was being told to buy a cap or leave the pool when I'm bald.

The Douro River view from our balcony was one of the best parts of the stay, and we even got to watch the sunrise. The location was breathtaking, our room was clean and lovely, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. We had a great breakfast buffet and enjoyed the restaurant food too. Thanks to everyone who made our three-night visit so special. We'd definitely return. 🙏 Just a note that water and other drinks tend to be expensive, and the restaurant bill suggested a tip. In my experience, tipping isn't typical in Portugal.
