Braga Center Apartments Eça de Queirós

We booked one night this weekend at Terro Collection Eça de Queirós in Braga, Portugal, in a studio with GARDEN VIEWS. When my family and I arrived, they gave us a room that didn’t match our reservation. I contacted the accommodation right away to report the mistake, but the way we were treated was even more surprising. The woman who answered was quite rude and kept insisting they hadn’t made an error, even though I sent the booking voucher, which clearly said we’d booked a studio with views. Instead, we were given a room at the back, looking out at buildings and a really unpleasant view. I then contacted Booking.com, who tried to mediate with the owners. After checking the reservation, they confirmed I was right: we had booked a studio with views, not the room they tried to give us. The whole thing was very unpleasant, especially since it was my birthday. They tried to offer a solution, but it fell well short of what we felt was fair for the inconvenience. Sadly, the experience was marked by a lack of professionalism and consideration for guests. I don’t recommend it.

The check-in was easy since the confirmation came through as soon as I paid. I stayed with my family earlier this year, and the place was better value than I expected. The stove took a little figuring out, but I’d happily come back. There’s a parking lot very close by, so parking wasn’t an issue for us. I’d recommend it.

We were there August 10th to 12th, two adults and two children. Getting in was straightforward with a building code and a key box for each unit. The area was quiet, shops were within walking distance, parking was easy, and the kitchen had plenty of equipment. Towels, made beds, toiletries, coffee, a hairdryer, a TV, and effective air conditioning were provided. The room felt too cramped for four, with barely anywhere for suitcases and little room to move. The bedding was uncomfortable, the sheets stained, and the wallpaper damaged. The fridge didn’t cool enough. There was no microwave, broom or dustpan, and no coat hooks in the bathroom. Water also drained poorly in the long shower. I’d say it works for two, but four is a squeeze.

The apartment was quiet and had easy parking, a well-equipped kitchen, air conditioning, and towels. It was on the 1st floor in a secure building, with a small balcony facing a lovely little park. The location was ideal for visiting the historic center of Braga. We were two adults and two children from August 10th to 12th, 2025, and it felt too small for us. With the sofa bed open, moving around was difficult, and eating together was awkward. The cleanliness needs work too: the pillows were yellow and the sheets stained.
