Braga Heritage Lofts

The room was spacious and clean, and came with all the kitchen amenities. I'd definitely come back and recommend this place to others.

The loft is right in central Braga, within about a 5-10 minute walk of the landmarks, shops and other places we wanted to see. Our room looked onto a castle and its garden, down a quiet street. The “first” floor is really the second floor because, in Portugal, the first floor isn't residential, so each named floor is one level higher. There are no elevators, so bear that in mind if you're carrying heavy bags. The room felt like an IKEA floor model, sleek, modern and minimal, and both the room and bathroom were spacious. By the entrance there's a big cabinet with drawers holding a mini dishwasher, stove, fridge and sink. Utensils, dishes and washing supplies were provided, and the heated towel rack in the bathroom came in handy. The shower knob was my one frustration. You have to turn it all the way left to get hot water, then adjust it a millimeter at a time. It's metal with no grip, so once your hands are wet or soapy, it's almost impossible to turn. I wish it had a rubber grip for traction. Otherwise, everything was perfect. There's barely any street parking in the city center. A few garages are nearby, including Campo Da Vinha: Praça Conde de Agrolongo 83, 4700-295 Braga, Portugal, about a 1-2 minute walk away. I'd use a garage instead of parking farther off, since the cobblestones are hard on suitcase wheels.

We loved this place so much that we stayed an extra night. It's spotless, which matters a lot to my partner and me since we're very particular about cleanliness. The building's insulation was also surprisingly good. We didn't need the heating overnight, even though poor insulation usually means we feel drafts all around the room. The architecture, interiors and decor were beautiful, minimal in a tasteful way, and the space was very generous. Ana was friendly and welcoming, and we'll definitely stay here each time we come to Braga. We hope to be back in a few months. Thanks so much for the hospitality!

I was skeptical after reading the reviews, but this newer hotel is simple and really nice. It's clean, has modern fire codes, and there are fantastic gardens right across the street. Restaurants and shops are just steps away, and it's an eight-minute walk from the bus station. The worst thing I could find was that there were only four clothes hangers.
