Great value for the money.

I’m posting here because there isn’t a page for the rooms in Porto. I want to make people aware of what happened to me. I lived in the Porto apartment for 3 months, from September to November. When I left, the couple who rent out the rooms asked me to send a detailed video of the place and said they’d return the deposit I’d paid within 7 days at most. It’s been almost a month, and I still haven’t seen any of my money. I spoke with the landlord at the beginning of this month, and they told me they didn’t have the money to pay me and couldn’t say when they would. It’s awful to feel that I’ve been wronged and that I can’t do anything about it. I’m making this public so other people can avoid going through the same thing.

There’s only one bathroom, which makes things difficult when you’re in a hurry. The apartment is small for all the people staying there, and since it’s in a residential building, the neighbors complain about any noise. The beds don’t have the usual hostel curtains, lights, or outlets beside them. There’s no real common area either. The breakfast room has two tables with three seats each and closes at 21h, so after that there’s nowhere to sit and study. I also didn’t think the hosts were suited to working at a hostel. This place might do for one night, but if you’re here for work or sightseeing, it’s really not worth it. I didn’t like it.

The hostel is generally clean, and you can do laundry there, though there’s no way to dry it. The people were friendly, helpful, and sociable. I saw many beautiful ladies staying there as customers. One thing I didn’t like was being told I couldn’t smoke there, not even on the clean balcony. The woman working there was very pleasant with her husband 🤓👍.
