The cold made this stay really difficult. The heating was switched off overnight, and by morning the radiators were icy. It was miserable getting up early, and taking a shower or even sitting in the room felt uncomfortable. Cold air also came through the thin windows, while the heating never kept a steady temperature. There was hardly any sound insulation either. We could hear people in the corridors and other rooms, including footsteps, conversation, and running water, so sleeping well was nearly impossible. Cleaning during our 5-night stay was poor. Dust was all over the room, with hair even on the walls. Towels were just folded rather than replaced; mostly they swept, emptied the bin, and occasionally left more toilet paper. The shower was tiny, about 1×1 meter, and had no proper door. A dirty curtain kept sticking to me, which made using it unpleasant. Breakfast was meager too: dry bread, ham, cheese, and yogurt, with no eggs, hot dishes, or sausages. The bread wasn't good, and compared with other places in the region the choice was very poor. When we asked for help, especially about the heating, staff seemed cold and unwilling to deal with the problems. We didn't feel welcome.

I was stranded in Bragança and needed somewhere to rest urgently, so I called around midnight. They took me in without charging anything extra, which was a huge relief. The place was clean and affordable for families, with heating in the cold season and lots of parking. The staff were very helpful. I'd recommend it to people travelling alone, groups, or families with kids.

Breakfast came with the stay, though the selection was quite small and could use more variety. The price was reasonable for a budget trip, but there may be better options for the same money. The rooms were plain and clean, and the beds were comfortable; the bathrooms and other facilities felt dated and could use renovation. Common areas were fine, but didn't have the lively feel of other youth hostels I've visited. The location is handy for seeing Bragança, close to the historic center and main sights. Staff were friendly and gave me useful suggestions about the city. HI Bragança – Pousada de Juventude is a decent, functional place if you want an affordable bed in a good spot. It was clean, but nothing especially memorable, so don't expect much beyond the basics.

The view from the window was great, and the place was quiet with a lovely setting. The room was good quality for a cheap price, and breakfast was included as a Swedish table. I'd recommend it 100%.

The staff were really friendly, and everything was fine. The kitchen could use more utensils, but what was there worked okay.
