We had a great stay, and our four-year-old daughter absolutely loved the rooms. Catarina was a lovely host and made sure we were comfortable. Martim is a friendly, experienced surf instructor who takes the time to explain things and works with you at your own level. We were two families with five kids aged 5, 7, 8, 8, and 11, and came for four days of surf lessons without staying at the hotel. Martim got in the water and pushed us into waves, so we caught far more than we would at other schools and got constant feedback. Everyone had a lot of fun and got the hang of it, and by the later days we were catching waves ourselves. The kids had Alberto and Vasco coaching them, and they were talented and inspiring. All the children had a blast and managed to surf. They communicated through examples and body language, so the language barrier wasn’t an issue. Their energy and enthusiasm were something special. We live nearby and didn’t stay in the rooms, but took a lesson with Foz Surfcamp and I’d highly recommend it. Martim was very responsive and answered all my many questions over the months before our surf day. He and his team were professional and courteous. My 13-year-old twin niece and nephew loved the lesson and even begged to come back for a second day. I especially appreciated that the instructor worked with my nephew until he managed to stand up on the board. A great experience all around!
