The apartment is lovely, laid out well, and has a superb view. The one letdown for us was the small, dark bathroom, which wasn't very pleasant. We got a really warm welcome. Our hosts didn't speak French, but they did their best to make themselves understood. We're not used to that anymore since English is more common these days, but it's part of traveling and a reminder you're in a different country, with a different culture and language.

We only really used the holiday home just outside Calheta to eat breakfast and dinner, and to sleep. It was clean and tidy, with simple furnishings, a lovely Atlantic Ocean view, and a quiet location.

The bed was lovely, and the place itself was fantastic. It wasn't difficult to find, though the directions could be a bit better! ;-)
