Azalea was a really cozy house with everything we needed, including an oven, air fryer, and fridge. We slept very well, and the shower was lovely. There were sun loungers and even an umbrella ready to use. The owners and staff did everything they could to help us feel comfortable and relaxed. Pedro, the owner, gave me some fun BBQ lessons using his furnace and BBQ, and they even went to several places looking for rooibos tea for my wife. They didn't have to, but they did. The spot is gorgeous, so green and peaceful, and it feels like being in botanical gardens while still close to the tourist attractions. All the little details were thought through, and I can't think of anything I'd want changed. Loved it!

We had a really enjoyable week, and if we come back to Madeira, we already know where we'd stay. The small house is set in the hills a few minutes from Funchal, in a beautiful garden with flowers and trees. There's another rental house and the owners' home on the grounds, but we still had enough privacy. The owners were lovely and ready to advise or help. The house was very clean, cleaned every day, and had plenty of room for two, with good furnishings and everything we needed. Fresh towels and toiletries were provided daily, though the bathrobe was a bit short for someone 194 cm tall. Breakfast was left in the fridge each day, with juice, fresh pastries, fruit, jam, ham, cheese, eggs, and coffee capsules. The weather was cold, but the heating, air conditioning that also heats, and an American stove with wood kept us warm. Perfect.

The little daily touches were lovely, like fresh flowers or Portuguese sweets left for us. Filomena and Pedro are so friendly, and everything felt relaxed. We liked Azalea so much that while we were still staying there, we booked another visit for next year. Casas de Pedra was one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. The house design, service, garden, surrounding nature, and quiet all get 10 out of 10. If you want great quality and a real feel for Madeira's nature, book a house at Casas de Pedra. ♥️

The gardens were lovely, and the decor was beautiful. We slept in a super comfortable bed and enjoyed the peace, away from busy Funchal.

It felt like home, with a delicious self-catered breakfast and a house all to ourselves. The hosts were amazing and happy to do anything for us. Such a beautiful place to stay.
