Arca Nova Guest House & Hostel

The location worked well for us, with shops nearby and just a short walk to the ferry for crossing the river to Spain. We had a private room for three at about the same price as a shared dorm, and it was nice to have our own bathroom. There’s also a terrace for afternoon drinks. The communal kitchen is quite small, but it was a nice place to meet other pilgrims. An excellent Camino stay.

My pookie bear and I liked the bed, bathrooms and spacious kitchen. At check-in, though, the host insisted that the boat taxi we’d booked for the next morning would take us to the wrong place and make our trip harder. We were confused and didn’t know why they gave us such a hard time, especially since the taxi worked out completely fine.

I shared a room with nine other people during my Camino, but barely noticed anyone and slept exceptionally well. The hostel was clean and modern, with a fully equipped kitchen and a seating area. They also offer an in-house massage, which was great.

The guest house seemed nice, if pretty basic. We had a nice big room with four beds and our own balcony. The AC was a huge help after a long day. The shower was a little wonky and not my favorite, though the bidet was a nice plus. The bed was comfortable enough, nothing special. Breakfast came with the room and was pretty solid, with fruit, toast, cereals, coffee, juice, meat and cheese.
