Villa Valbom

The rooms are quiet, and the beds are large and comfortable, so we always leave feeling well rested. We’ve stayed at Villa Valbom several times and love the atmosphere, along with the great breakfast and the dinners when Jasper cooks. You can head straight from the villa into nature, walk to the beach, or go up into the hills. Thanks, we’ll be back!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Valbom and hope to come back soon. The property and facilities are beautiful, and breakfast and dinner were fantastic. Foz do Lisandro and São Julião Beach are nearby, and Ericeira town is a 15-minute drive away. Thanks, Japser and Team!

The breakfast was very nice, but overall the experience was disappointing, especially the advertised “sea view,” which didn’t match what we expected. It felt very expensive for the service, location, and lack of adequate heating. The suites are large, though not always practical. For instance, you have to go outside to get to the living room. The internet codes didn’t work in the first suite, the beds had very hard mattresses, and water leaked from beneath the bedroom sink. The villa is recent, but the high prices seem intended to give the impression of a high-grade hotel. It isn’t that. It’s a group of suites in a valley, in a very small, remote village, with an almost improvised road access.

The outdoor space was our favorite, with a large pool overlooking the view, a smaller pool, and a garden that made us feel at home right away. The rooms are all individual gems. We were lucky enough to have the owner show us each one, and every room was beautiful and had its own special touch. The new, modern house at Villa Valbom has several unique apartments, plus the breakfast and dinner area in the middle. It feels like a living room, with an open kitchen. The older house has its own pool. It’s a beautiful, modern and calm spot by the beach, a real hidden gem. Breakfast is served in the “living room,” and you can have as much as you like. There’s fruit, yoghurt, eggs, Marmelade, guacamole, and something new each day. Coffee is self-service, and you can take as much as you want. You can walk to either of the two nearby beaches in about 15-20 minutes. It’s really nice not to use the car, and the beaches weren’t crowded at all. We were lucky Jasper was cooking one night, so we ordered food and had a nice, private dinner. The nearest big supermarket is in Ericeira. You can rent bikes if you don’t have a car. We’ll come back.
