The employees were helpful, and the hotel refunded the unused part of our stay. We still left at 11 pm to find another hotel because the problems were taking over our time in the city. It started with a musty smell and peeling wallpaper in our room after we checked in late because of our flight. Soon my eyes were red and itchy and my throat felt irritated. After we turned on the AC, the room smelled strongly of mold the next day. Reception sent maintenance, and they noticed the odor right away. We were moved to a one bedroom suite, which had no mold smell but was still musty. Ants were crawling on the nightstand, so we didn't feel comfortable unpacking. That evening, a huge cockroach appeared on the living room closet, as shown in the picture. When we called reception, it crawled inside. They said the closet had been nailed shut after renovations and suggested we tell them if it came back out. I refused to stay there. They offered another room, but we asked for a refund for the rest of our stay. The hotel itself was a disaster.

The location is away from the busy beach, so we didn't have noise trouble, though the hill up and down to the beach is very steep. Reception staff were excellent, and breakfast was plentiful with a good variety. Our room was a good size, the bathroom was very good, and the beds were comfortable. It was nice to have a small outdoor space too. The paintwork could do with freshening up soon. Emma and Mike the English bikers.

The staff were friendly and professional, and the breakfast was excellent. Our room was large and sparkling clean, and the beach was within walking distance. Highly recommend.

It's in a very nice, quiet area, with grocery stores just a two minute drive away. The beach and restaurants are walkable, and both are only a short drive too. The staff were very friendly and kept everything clean. The rooms could use a bit of updating, but it's a nice hotel.

The staff were really nice and attentive, with nothing to complain about there. We had a decent stay at Carveiro Hotel, but it fell well short of what I expect from a 4star hotel and felt too expensive for what was offered. Our spacious, clean room had a pleasant garden view and a big balcony. There was a small integrated kitchen where we could make snacks, plus a nice outdoor pool and garden. The old furniture feels and smells worn out and needs serious restoration for a 4 star hotel. The bathroom was clean, though its ventilation system had issues. Breakfast was a real disappointment: very, very limited, just three cheeses, three kinds of ham, some eggs, sweets and fruit. No fresh vegetables for a salad. The available products were decent quality, but a 4 star hotel should offer more variety. For example, if I had been vegan, I wouldn't have had anything to choose from. The coffee was instant too.
