The apartment itself is fine, which makes the condition of it such a shame. Hygiene was awful. There were clumps of hair stuck to the shower walls, and the sofa and carpet were covered in disgusting stains. I mopped so we could walk barefoot more comfortably, and had to rinse the mop and refill the bucket five times before the water stopped coming out black. The dirt was unbelievable. There was a serious lack of basics, too. The mattress topper was smaller than the mattress, so its elastic kept popping off, and there was only a duvet, no top sheet for anyone who wanted a lighter cover. We ended up going to Auchan to buy sheets because we’d had enough. The bedside light switch was so stiff you practically had to hit it, and the plug on the other side didn’t reach. The TV’s Vodafone set-top box didn’t work. And that sign threatening a cleaning charge if dishes weren’t washed felt really cheap when they hadn’t even provided dish soap. The hygiene was disgusting.
