The entrances and breakfast room have ramps, and getting around in my electric wheelchair was no problem. It’s a hostel, though a very nice one for people who don’t need hotel room service. The staff are very friendly, and the location is terrific, within walking distance of the centre and beautiful restored places from the 14,000s. Breakfast is traditional Portuguese, so don’t expect eggs and beans.

The room had just been renovated and was very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s a little outside the historic centre, but still under a 10-minute walk. Breakfast was the one letdown: they didn’t replenish it, so there wasn’t much left, and there were no plates or glasses.

The town itself isn’t much to look at, and the outside of this place may not impress either. But inside, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the young staff are keen to help. They also sorted us out when we needed to add an extra night at short notice. You won’t be disappointed with the accommodation.

The rooms and bathroom are new, and the bathroom is spacious. The air conditioning can heat the room too, which is handy in winter. It’s a good place with what you need for a decent night’s sleep. I’d only change the breakfast options from time to time.
