A charming little hotel, though I found the mattress a bit uncomfortable. There’s no breakfast or coffee service.

6/10
The place itself is pleasant, but the parking is so tight that it takes away from the space between the houses. I also missed having breakfast, though I understand that leaving it out means less work and expense. There was a booking problem too. I booked in May, then only six days before the August stay got a message I didn’t read, saying the reservation had been cancelled because of a credit card issue on Booking’s side. That was unpleasant, and I managed to get only two of the three nights.

8/10
The rooms are roomy and clean, and breakfast was quite good, with fresh products. The staff were very pleasant and kept checking that we had everything we needed. My only reservation was that the mattress felt a little uncomfortable.

The hotel lounge and patio are both really pleasant, and reception was impeccable. The rooms feel cozy, but they can get a bit stuffy, especially after a shower.

10/10
The staff were friendly and attentive, and the room was both spacious and very clean. The hotel is in Castelo de Paiva, about 40 minutes from Porto and 30 minutes from the Paiva footbridges.
