If exploring Portugal's remote rural villages appeals to you, this is a great one to visit. There are cosy places to stay and eat nearby.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and we felt right at home, almost like visiting grandma. We were sorry to leave so soon. Osvaldo is the most hospitable owner we've ever met: barely had we said hello before he was inviting us to try his homemade wine, cheese and meat. There was more to come, and we'll try making limoncello from his recipe. Breakfast was wonderful too, with fresh orange and melon juice and a cake his wife had baked.

One of the best experiences we've had in Portugal. The stay was fantastic, and dinner had great food, fado music and atmosphere. The place and hosts were amazing.

The area is gorgeous, and staying here made a perfect base for exploring it. We had a lovely visit. Julieta was so friendly, shared lots of helpful recommendations, and gave us wine.
