There’s a lively social scene right outside, and the street stayed busy with people having fun late into the night. A concert next door went on well past 11pm, despite the 10pm noise curfew, though that isn’t something the owner controls. I don’t know how often concerts happen. The area seems to have the city’s busiest gay bar next door, which will be a plus for some. It suited our vibe and added to the atmosphere, but others may want something quieter. Families with young kids might find the noise difficult, and there’s a vending machine just beside the entrance with many products, including some travellers may consider sexually explicit, as well as a separate condom machine. You can avoid walking past them by going the other way. Our experience was unique, and that’s why I travel. I’d stay again at this point in my life, but might have liked it less with children who needed sleep or if the vending machines near the door made me uncomfortable. The room itself was clean, with a handy kitchen, and housekeeping had set up three beds for us. Getting in was confusing, as was finding out whether luggage storage was available. Our room number changed, but the codes for both doors stayed the same, which caused more confusion. There’s no on-site staff, and everything is handled by text.
