The price is low, and the location is good. It’s an old building with small rooms, only the most basic amenities, a toilet that smelled a bit, and no lift.

For one night, everything worked out fine and the location was great. We stayed there on New Year's Eve. The staff were friendly, the bed was fairly comfortable, and the price was cheap. The room and bathroom are both on the small side, though, and with luggage or a longer stay it might not suit a larger person. There’s no lift and no fridge in the room.

We stayed in this T2 apartment from August 1 to 4, 2024. It's near Coimbra B station and a bus stop, with Hotel Internacional De Coimbra just across the road from the station exit. That's where we checked in and picked up the keys, then walked a short distance to the apartment. There's a mini supermarket close by, plus plenty of restaurants and shops. Getting to the lift means first climbing stairs, and the upper flight is spiral shaped, broad on one side and narrow on the other. Take care going up and down. The rooms are small, with just one bathroom. I didn't like the layout: the living room is the entrance, with the kitchen and bathroom to the right. After a bath, you'd have to walk past people in the living room and along a very creaky corridor to reach either bedroom. One has a double bed, the other two single beds. The pull-out sofa in the living room is too small for a teenager. There's a single air conditioner in the living room, like a hotel-room unit, and it doesn't cool the whole flat. No fans were provided for the other rooms, though portable heaters were available. The windows had no net curtains, although hooks on the frames suggest there used to be some. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a large fridge, but no washing machine. The cooker is fitted oddly, with its knobs facing the wall, which could cause someone to get burned while using them. Each bedroom and the living room had what looked like a 20-inch TV. There was tablet soap in the bathroom, but the shower dispenser was empty. All the doors had locks, but we weren't given keys, which raised a privacy concern. The bathroom door's keyhole let someone peek inside. I reported the missing bathroom key, but they seemed to miss my point and kept saying the door would stay shut if pushed hard. I wondered whether fitting a small inside bolt for guests' privacy would really be so difficult or costly. I booked through Airbnb and reported this there, but the host didn't seem interested in sorting it out. Those are the facts about the apartment and its location, so consider whether it meets your needs.

We stayed four nights in this old hotel, which has little in the way of facilities. The bed and bathroom were clean, with housekeeping each day, and you can leave your luggage if needed. Coimbra station is just across the road, and it's also an easy walk to the old town and main bus station. There’s no elevator. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Our room was a loft with a very low ceiling. We couldn't even sit up in bed without hitting our heads, which happened several times. The bathroom light didn't work, and its door wouldn't lock, so it stayed open all night and made for an unpleasant situation. We also couldn't find drinking water all night. In the morning, staff knocked a few minutes before checkout, which surprised us since we were already standing at the door. I wouldn't recommend it at all.
