There were some ants in the building, unfortunately, though staff dealt with it promptly. I paid 15€ for a private room and two shared bathrooms for just four people, so the value for money was excellent. You can't really ask for more at that price. The view of the city and the old monastery of Santa Clara is amazing too. I definitely recommend it.

The only good part was the free parking in front of the house, so my two stars are for that. We had trouble reaching the host by call or text and got no reply. They hadn't sent our room's house number, so we had to figure out where it was ourselves. The room wasn't the one we'd booked, and there were no checkout instructions either, so we had to find out where to leave the key on our own. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the apartment was noisy. Not recommended.

I stayed in Santa Clara instead of Coimbra, and it had everything I needed nearby. Tasquinha d’Irene, the old and new monastery, and the Barbie Museum are all close to the hotel. My room was fine for one person, and the shared kitchen was pretty well equipped.

The place feels like a bare stopover, with very little care put into the accommodation. The only reason to stay seems to be that it's the cheapest short-term option in Coimbra, and you get what you pay for. Also, they constantly spray bug spray into the air, so wear a mask to avoid breathing it in. You won't get the apartment shown in the listing. They always put you in another room, sometimes even a different building.
