We ended up cancelling our stay after one night, and the manager didn’t seem sympathetic. We’d booked six months ahead, so it was frustrating to arrive without any warning that our room faced a very busy road or a chance to pick a quieter one by the river. We would have considered paying more if we’d been told about that option. The room itself was cozy, and the house is pretty with visible renovation work, but the constant traffic ruined the night. Trucks kept passing, the windows vibrated, and an old refrigerator added more noise. Traffic only eased around 3 a.m. and started again at 6, so sleeping was impossible. It was one of the worst nights of my life, and a huge disappointment.

We arrived late, but the staff kindly still took us in. Since everything in town was closed, they even offered us a little dinner. That was exceptionally thoughtful.

For a night in Coruche because of work or some other reason, it does the job well enough. I wouldn’t choose it for a longer or different kind of stay.
