Orbitur Costa De Caparica

We had what we needed for our rooftop tent, including showers, water, electricity and washrooms, and this campsite is set up well for rooftop tents. There’s plenty for families too, from a playground and kids’ entertainment to TV rooms, plus a small shop, cafe and bar. The beach takes about a 15-minute walk to reach. We paid €45.45 for one night in July, our first visit here. The busy roads nearby, with pubs and nightclubs, made for a lot of late-night noise in the tent, and we didn’t care for the location because of it. We won’t be back. #travelwithtentbox

It’s close to the beach, and the paths are good for bikes. The campsite itself feels very basic, though, and with how full it gets, it could be better looked after. The showers are rusty and old and need updating. Staff were friendlier at some times than others. Overall, it needs modernising.

There’s a nice cafe on site, and this is a handy base for Lisbon, with bus and ferry connections. The pitches feel cramped, since the open spaces among the trees put people quite close together. Facilities are acceptable, but the drainage needs attention. Water pools on the floor after showers, especially in the disabled room, where it drains slowly and leaves the floor slippery. There’s also a noticeable drain smell. Be prepared for noise from a nearby club.

The washrooms are clean and looked after, but the rest of the campsite feels dusty, short on nature and poorly maintained. It’s right beside a major road with bars, so nights get very loud. The manager and staff didn’t come across as friendly or welcoming.
