The location is hard to beat: right beside the old city’s main square, near the police station, and very quiet and safe. I stayed three nights and, to my pleasant surprise, got the room I’d wanted even though it had shown as unavailable. Room 102 on the first floor, with its little seating terrace, was just right. It’s a new place in Elvas and, I think, the best. There are two guest terraces and a pleasant shared area, plus coffee in the kitchen. The rooftop terrace has a nice view. Reception staff speak a little English, which was enough for basic communication. A very good choice, highly recommended. There’s no breakfast, but coffee and pastries are easy to find at nearby cafés.

The terrace has a lovely view over Elvas, and there’s a pleasant outdoor sitting area. Inside, the shared space is really good too, with a little kitchen, coffee machine and living room. My room was spacious and clean, with air conditioning and a big bathroom. The shower was nice, and for the price the quality was very good. It’s right in the city centre.
