Monte da Amoreira

The food is great, though Wi-Fi doesn't reach every area.

The pool was fantastic, and the place was peaceful, with staff always ready to help. The two sisters working both inside the bar and around the pool were especially kind and humble. It was a bit farther from Badajoz than the place I found last year, but still good. What I didn't like was how many bugs got inside: gnats, mosquitoes, crickets, and ants. I also found lots of cobwebs indoors, and under the sofas it was a disgrace, so much dust. The sofas are very old, and they've covered them with bedspreads. I won't be back.

The accommodation was really bad. The beds wobble, and the sofas start falling apart when you try to sit and relax. The bathroom was dirty, and there was nowhere to put clothes, so they had to stay in the suitcase. They have a pool but no drying rack for swimsuits. The garden and surrounding area are peaceful and lovely, and the pool itself is very good, though most of the parasols and chairs are broken.

I wouldn't recommend it, and I won't come back. Cleaning was poor, with a badly cleaned bathroom, dirty drains, hair everywhere, and rolls of lint scattered around the apartment. There were cobwebs, spiders in the bed, and even a lizard roaming around. I understand it's meant to be a rural experience, but I don't need to share a bed with spiders or be cut off from the world without phone signal or internet. The bed was uncomfortable, and the so-called sofa nearly collapsed when I tried to sit on it. The water was lukewarm, tending cold. I strongly recommend an inspection by ASAE.
