We used the barbecue on our first evening, and the nature reserve is well worth visiting. It’s a beautiful one-mile walk through lovely scenery. The place is well run, with a lovely pool and several separate areas that feel private and secluded. My one criticism is that we were invited to dinner with the host on our last night, then charged a substantial amount for it.

A peaceful spot in Alentejo, whether up on the mountain or down on the valley farm. It has all the comforts you need to get away from the busy, noisy big cities.

Quiet and tucked away from noise, it’s an ideal place to rest and take some time for reflection. The view is impossible to describe, with an open horizon and a striking sunset.
