Swimming in the pool as the sun went down was priceless. This beautiful little gem is surrounded by nature, and Rita and her husband were delightful hosts. A fantastic stay, five stars. Do yourself a favor and book here.

After a month traveling around Europe, I spent my last 2 nights here and was really glad I did. Rita and her husband were so welcoming, and the property was peaceful and relaxing, with cowbells in the distance, crickets at night, and birds chirping. I spent my one full day driving out to the Algarve, about 1.5 hrs each way on smaller roads, and enjoyed it! Breakfast was a very good continental one, with fresh bread, jams, and even homemade zucchini jam. I had dinner once too: Rita made a HUGE portion of bacalhau to her own recipe and a passion fruit pie. While we ate, a peacock walked past, the parrot napped in the corner, the kitten chased a fly playfully, and Oscar the dog lay calmly at my feet. My one complaint is that mosquito nets on the windows or around the bed would help in summer. I left the window open the first night and got some bites. The second night I had to choose between mosquitoes and a closed window, which was tough on a hot night. The internet didn’t quite reach my room, though that was fine by me for a bit of extra relaxation.

It felt like visiting an aunt at her farm in Portugal: they welcomed us with tea and coffee by the fireplace. We had a lovely room with a huge bed, a terrific mountain view, and a terrace. But we didn’t spend much time out there. We went for walks and rode their bikes around the farm, enjoying the quiet of a simpler life. Then we came back to a 5 stars breakfast and a pot of coffee.

The setting and surrounding nature are beautiful, and the host is really friendly and speaks several languages. The rooms are good for a very fair price, and breakfast was excellent, fresh from the farm. We also got free Mountainbikes to explore the farm, which was a bonus.
