Octant Evora

We had a quick family weekend here, and it turned out to be a great choice. The place doesn't feel like a standard hotel. We might forget the hotel itself, but we'll remember the experience: warm socks in our room and a plush toy for our baby. There are bicycles for family members who want to explore the area, plus daily kids' activities while we were there. The restaurant was open all day, which was convenient, and the food was fresh and well made. The spa was amazing, though massages were pretty steep. I had Aserina for my therapeutic massage, and she really knew how to help me. We'll definitely come back.

The gardens and little walking paths were a real treat, especially the quiet places to stop and relax along the way. We also liked seeing the hotel’s own fruit and vegetable patch, and the whole property feels thoughtfully arranged. We only stayed two days, but came away feeling calm and comfortable. The modern, minimal design is softened by wood and other natural touches, so it still feels warm and inviting. The team were lovely too, always smiling and checking how we were doing. We had a great stay and would give it five stars without hesitation.

I was unsure about paying €149 for a 90-minute custom massage, but Liliana had me convinced within minutes. She was precise, intuitive, and seriously skilled. I’ve had massages in many parts of the world and none has come close to this one at the Évora Hotel, Farm & Spa. I don’t tip just because someone is doing their job, but when the service goes well beyond that, I’m glad to show my appreciation. My tip was more than the massage itself, and absolutely worth it. If Liliana ever works in Los Angeles, I’ll be first in line. For now, I’ll have to fly back to Portugal for another session.

The bed deserves an extra star on its own, and the rooms are large and comfortable. The food was outstanding, and the staff were warm and attentive. Everything in this lovely hotel in the Portuguese countryside feels carefully chosen and beautifully designed. We did hear some very loud children, though. That isn’t the hotel’s fault, but some parents don’t seem to consider the other guests. I can still highly recommend the place.
