The place smelled bad, the equipment was run down, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. They only mentioned the cash-only payment at the last minute. I was running late and didn’t have time to deal with it, but they didn’t seem to understand or care. There were no farm animals, despite what was claimed. Check-in and check-out details weren’t provided either. I’m exhausted by these Portugal scams.

We visited in winter and were the only guests, but still got full service. The place felt like a bargain, with a beautifully updated quinta set on a large estate among vineyards and animals.

I wish we’d stayed longer. There’s plenty to do here, from swimming to tennis and minigolf, and there are animals nearby as well. The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was quite good. It’s a beautiful spot.

The views change depending on which room you’re in, and they’re spectacular. This is a tiny farm with rescued horses, lots of chickens and roosters, a pot bellied wart hog, and a wonderful dog. You’ve been warned about the roosters. The hospitality felt classically Portuguese.

The rooms were clean and practical, and the kitchens had what we needed, though the fridge could be better. Outside, there’s a well-kept garden, a pool, tennis court, foosball, and bikes. The mini-golf could use some work. We had a very good stay.
