Leevin Guesthouse Faro

The room was modern and really nice, with a lovely bathroom and a mini-fridge, and the whole stay was faultless. The staff were welcoming and friendly. It was March and the weather was awful, so the sun terrace wasn’t open, which obviously wasn’t their fault. You can’t eat in the room because of ants, but that’s understandable. I’d consider staying at Leevin again if I return to Faro.

The rooftop terrace was my favorite part. I spent several evenings there watching the sunset, and it was still comfortable to sit outside after dark with the furniture and lights. I also liked the outdoor tables. The kitchen was clean, tidy, and well equipped, with room for my food in the fridge. There are plenty of restaurants and grocery shops nearby, and a very clean laundromat two minutes away. Washing and drying a load there cost €7, including detergent and softener. As a solo female traveler, feeling safe matters a lot to me, and I felt secure at Leevin Guesthouse. I was traveling by train, and the location worked well for that, as well as buses and air travel: it’s across from the train station, a five-minute walk to the bus terminal, and ten minutes from the ferry terminal. A friendly, efficient young man from Brazil checked me in. I’m sorry I didn’t get his name. He showed me around and shared lots of recommendations. My Verde Suite was very comfortable, with a good bed and couch, a great shower with plenty of hot water, and plush towels. The amenities were much appreciated. My one complaint is that some guests weren’t considerate. That isn’t the guesthouse’s fault, though it would help to have the hallway lights on a timer, since people left them on at night and light came through the door. The earplugs they provided were great, a nice touch.

I’ve stayed here twice now, which says plenty about the place. It’s comfortable, clean, and well looked after, with modern furnishings and a nicely equipped kitchen. The staff are helpful and friendly. The location is especially convenient, right across from the train station and close to the airport bus stop. I’d recommend it to anyone after a comfortable, handy place to stay.

The beds were so comfortable, which made a big difference after full days out exploring. We also really liked relaxing in the sun on the terrace. Leevin is about a seven-minute walk from Faro’s center, so getting around was easy. The staff were wonderful and gave us useful suggestions for affordable restaurants with delicious food, plus fun tours. We had a lovely stay and I’d happily come back.
