We chose to include breakfast and dinner, and there was enough food for an army. They also accept dogs, which we loved. The rooms were spotless, comfortable and well equipped. After winding down a magical, twisting road, you reach this little slice of paradise. We loved it and will come back with friends.

We spent two comfortable nights with good food and plenty of peace and quiet. Nuno made sure everything was to our taste and made us feel at home. The hospitality at quinta da dourada is hard to beat. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Portalegre, and it definitely deserves five stars.

A peaceful, welcoming place out in the countryside. Beautiful, too.

The customer care was wonderful, and the food was delicious. We booked half-board, and the apartments were spacious. A lovely place to relax, especially if you have a dog.

The accommodation and location are lovely and feel high class, with a fireplace outside the apartment and a lovely host. But after long days of travel, you might hope to sleep in. Leaf blowers and other machines working can wake you early, and that took away from the experience a bit. That’s the only reason I took off a star.
