The apartment was comfortable and very clean, with great views. It’s close to good shops and restaurants, and I’d definitely stay here again.
My wife and I had a splendid month at MyChoice's Rio Gilao apartment in Tavira over Christmas 2025. The view was the standout feature, truly the top three things about the apartment. The tidal river Gilao rises and falls twice a day, revealing little islands and cascading rock pools. Herons, gulls, cormorants, countless shoals of fish and real people make it a non-stop 24-hour show. The apartment is right in the centre of town, and the two French windows open onto small balconies over the river. Inside, the flooring was smooth and easy to keep clean; the shower was spacious with a really good control tap; and both air conditioning units worked flawlessly. We enjoyed our stay enormously. The little holiday hiccups were always handled quickly and efficiently by the MyChoice people, 24/7. We couldn’t have liked it more!
The building felt cared for from the moment we arrived, with beautifully decorated halls, plush seating, plants, and lovely light fixtures. Our studio was bright and nicely furnished, with useful touches like a big mirror, shelves, a roomy sofa that could convert to a bed, and plenty of thick towels. It also had everything we needed, including a kitchenette, and two small balconies with tall windows, depending on the unit booked. Its spot right on a central square in downtown Faro was ideal. Shops, cafes, pharmacies, restaurants, and a small grocery store were all about a minute away. Check-in was quick with access codes and keys, and management kept in touch. The whole property was immaculate, and I saw cleaners there each day. I’d happily stay again if I return to Faro.
We were pretty stressed after missing our flight home to the UK because passport control was delayed, and Luiza was brilliant. We’d been at the airport since 4am, but she arranged an early check-in for our four-night stay, which we booked at very short notice. The apartment was clean, lovely, and had what we needed. It’s in a handy area for sightseeing and restaurants. Street noise at night was the one thing we struggled with, so we ended up buying earplugs.
