Occidental Faro Hotel

I only stayed one night, and I’m already trying to find a reason to come back. The rooftop restaurant had spectacular views, especially at sunset, and breakfast had everything I could have wanted. The rooms were beautiful, spotless, and well stocked, with a modern, spacious bathroom and one of the best walk-in showers I’ve used. Customer service was fabulous, polite and professional, and Milena was especially helpful and kind. It was a surprise trip, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was impressed by everything. Highly recommend!

We were sorry to leave and will definitely return. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff were so friendly. Carlos gave us a lovely welcome to such a beautiful country and made our stay special. The location is perfect for walking to lots of bars and restaurants, as well as the seafront. The rooftop bar has incredible views and sits under a flight path, so it’s fun for plane spotting. Even with the planes overhead, it wasn’t noisy inside.

The rooftop pool and saunas were a real plus, and the gym was a decent size. Breakfast was a solid buffet with something for everyone. The place was clean and spacious, in a very convenient location, and the staff were super friendly and helpful.

The rooms were quite adequate, the staff accommodating, and the complimentary breakfast buffet had a really good range. The hotel is conveniently located near both the marina and the shopping district. Our travel representative had told us we could take the train to Lisbon on the morning of the 24th for an 11:20 flight to Montreal. Once in Faro, I realized the timing wouldn’t work and that we’d need to get to Lisbon on the 23rd. We had prepaid for every night, including the 23rd, when we checked in. I asked management if they could refund that night, but they refused. I understand the mix-up wasn’t really their fault, though I thought they might have offered something as a goodwill gesture.
