Hotel Santa Maria

Even though we arrived late at night, we could still have dinner at the hotel's buffet restaurant. The cathedral was just a short walk away, so I went to see it after eating. The building has a circular shape, and inside I found everything clean, modern, and well organized. I guessed it had been rebuilt a couple of years ago. I was very satisfied with the hotel in many ways.

We stayed for three nights, my father and I, and had a really good time. Breakfast was nice, the Wi-Fi was fast, parking in the garage was free, and the restaurant served good food at reasonable prices. The location was super convenient, and above all, it was quiet. One small thing to fix: the bathroom floor is really cold.

Getting to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima takes only a short walk, which makes this a handy spot for pilgrims. My room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed and modern amenities. The staff were friendly, breakfast had plenty of tasty choices, and the cozy lobby was nice on cooler evenings. There's secure parking, too, and I thought it was good value. A relaxing, convenient place to stay in Fatima.

No coffee or water was available, either in the room or lobby, and room service doesn't start until 7:30 am. If you're arriving from abroad and dealing with jet lag, you may be stuck without either. A bottle of water costs over 2 euro. The service we got was the worst we've ever had, and smiling or being polite didn't seem to be part of the culture here. I wouldn't come back if you want to feel your money was well spent.
