Apartamentos Turisticos Praia Grande

We had a very pleasant stay in this apartment. The kitchen had all the essentials, and both the room and bathroom were very clean. The hosts were friendly, and it's in a nice location. Highly recommend it for a good stay.

The room wasn't particularly clean, and the bathroom felt musty and damp, with no window or ventilation. At night it was incredibly noisy because the room faces the main traffic route. The single glazing was thin enough that we heard people talking on the footpath and someone opening the apartment building entrance two floors below. The double bed was tiny, very hard and uncomfortable, and much too short. The mattress protector rustled, and the loose bottom sheet came off the edges overnight, leaving us on an unprotected mattress. The furniture looked very old-fashioned, with yellow walls and orange curtains. There was no kettle, hot water, tea or coffee in the room. Reception had decaf coffee from 10 am, if that counts. They offered free Nutella, but there was no toaster for it or kettle for tea or regular coffee. The host we spoke to on WhatsApp was absolutely awful. Read his replies to other people's negative Google reviews and you'll see what I mean. After I left a similarly honest review on the booking platform, he messaged my fiancé that he was “ignorant and probably lives in a dump” and a “mediocre person with no hygiene or education whatsoever”. 🤣 LOL, the worst customer service ever, if you can even call it customer service.

The apartment had the basics covered, and the atmosphere was quiet. The staff were really nice, and the beach wasn't too far away. All in all, a good choice.

The apartment was simple and clean, and the staff were friendly and kind. It's a great base for visiting Ferragudo and the rest of Algarve.
