Teresa takes meticulous care of this beautiful 16th-century mansion in the heart of the Serra da Estrela mountains. It’s a lovely place to unwind and disconnect. Two pools of different sizes sit just a short walk away, surrounded by trees and nature. There are also plenty of shared spaces for relaxing, cooking, playing, and other activities. We enjoyed wonderful breakfasts at the nearby restaurant O Junco, with which they collaborate. Pets are welcome.

We had exquisite service at the restaurant, with generous portions of local dishes that were beautifully prepared. The staff explained how the food was made, which added to the experience. The rooms in the historic manor were completely quiet, and the town itself is peaceful and friendly. It’s also well placed for visits to picturesque villages. An experience I’d happily repeat.

Casa Grande de Juncais has kept the charm and character of a 16th-century house. We spent the weekend there while visiting the Serra da Estrela mountains, and it was a very pleasant stay. I hope to return sometime. A special mention for the restaurant and the food from Víctor and Pilar. Their service delighted us. If you’re visiting the area, we encourage you to enjoy it.
