1-Bed Loft In Beautiful Character Babosas Village Apartments

We had a really pleasant stay, and the rooms were clean and nice. There's a little kitchen where we cooked dinner, though you'll need to bring your own spices and oil. When we didn't feel like cooking, the restaurant had great food, and it was nice to have a poncha at the end of the day. Breakfast was amazing: fresh fruit, several breads, jam and honey, plus eggs made the way you choose. There was also a little extra that changed each day, so we got to try lots of different things. The room service was great too, with the room spotless whenever we returned. We'd definitely come back!

The apartment was small, spotless, and really convenient, and the breakfast was lovely. The restaurant seemed to be open until around 9 or 10 pm, with wonderful food and service. The staff were such happy, kind people, always attentive and ready to help us feel at home. There’s parking too. I’d happily recommend staying here.

We really enjoyed our week in November. The mountain setting is cooler than central Funchal, and there’s a small farm nearby with goats and a cockerel, so you might hear some bleating. Getting up to Monte can be a bit of an adventure: the road is narrow, buses go both ways, and you may need to reverse to a passing spot. The apartment itself was modern, spacious, comfortable, and furnished to a high standard. We had a lovely sea view, and the kitchenette came in handy for making food. Breakfast used fresh local ingredients, and the little bottle of vinho da Madeira was a nice touch. We thought it was excellent value. The reason we stopped short of five stars was the noise from the restaurant overhead. It wasn’t voices or music, just tables and chairs scraping around until about 10 pm, then starting up again at 7 am. The lift was broken while we were there, which I understand happens, but nobody offered to help us carry our luggage up all those steps. Thanks for a lovely stay all the same.

The staff were so warm and helpful, and the whole stay felt unforgettable. Our room was clean, roomy, and had a great view. It also had everything we could need. Such a lovely place, and beautifully situated.
