Allegro Madeira - Adults Only

We had a very enjoyable seven-night stay. The hotel is almost central, with bus stops nearby, so it’s easy to get around the island without hiring a car. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the design, rooftop bar with its spectacular view, food, and comfortable beds all deserve top marks. It’s a nice, quiet, adults-only hotel, highly recommended. We couldn’t sleep well because of constant dog barking, even on the 11th floor. After we complained, we were offered another room. An indoor pool, or heating the existing one, would make a big difference. Breakfast was more than sufficient. The live cooking staff made omelettes, fried eggs, and pancakes, and there was plenty of fresh, peeled and sliced fruit. Dinner brought a different cuisine each night, with fish and meat steaks cooked live, and the food was tasty. Drinks weren’t included, which we expected, though it would have been nice to have water provided. I mention it because sparkling wine was available at breakfast and water at the entrance.

We had a lovely week and will definitely return. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and everything from the rooms to the pool and spa was spotless. Breakfast was fantastic, and we enjoyed cocktails on the rooftop bar each night. The area is walkable and has everything you need.

The team really came through when we had a problem with our room. The front desk staff greeted us warmly, and everyone worked together to sort it out and leave us very happy. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed for our six-night stay, even a clothes steamer. The breakfast buffet was incredible, with a wide choice of food and a chef making pancakes and omelets. We highly recommend this hotel, which is in a great location.

The rooftop cocktails were nice, and although the bartender was overworked, he really tried to improve the cocktail experience. The staff were kind and service-minded. You can pay by card or contactless at the pool and rooftop bar. The air conditioner could use a card explaining how it works. The hotel was clean and welcoming, the rooms were good, and nothing was broken or lacking. I’d come back without hesitation.
