Avenue Park

All the amenities were 10/10, and the location was wonderful. The staff were super friendly.

Miguel was really nice and gave us suggestions on where to go and where the weather was good. The room was big and clean, and having the hotel's own parking garage was a big plus. There's a pretty park right across from the hotel, and the old city centre is about a 15-minute walk away. A lovely café with a bakery is only about two minutes away on foot. We had a great experience and I'd definitely recommend staying here.

I arrived earlier than suggested and tried every number I could find on Google, the door and my confirmation email. I also rang the reception buzzers, then waited an hour, but nobody came. My suggested check-in time passed and no one called, even though I had booked three nights with no refund, so it wasn't a small amount of money. The manager called the next day, after I'd spent 30 minutes complaining to booking.com, who also couldn't get through to the apartment. In the end I had to pay four times as much to stay in a hotel. At 7pm I just needed someone there to check me in.

I've stayed here three times and have always been satisfied. The staff are helpful and friendly, and gave good information about car rental, things to do and sights to see in Madeira. The apartment building is close to lots of restaurants, a bus stop, Santa catarina park and opposite casino Madeira. It's a nice place to stay, and clean, though the furniture could do with an update.
