Pestana Casino Studios

The room was medium-sized, with a spacious, comfortable bed, but the shower kept swinging abruptly from hot to cold and back. It could also get noisy with the windows open. The hotel is nice, though breakfast and dinner mean walking out to another hotel. The location wasn't ideal, about a 15-minute walk to the city center, but there are restaurants nearby.

The staff and service made this stay for me. Diogo and Joao were especially helpful with advice day to day and made my birthday feel special. At check-in, Diogo upgraded us to a Sea View Studio for my birthday, which was a perfect start, and they arranged for Champagne to be sent to the room that day. At breakfast on my birthday, Eduardo came over to our table, gave us a Complimentary Breakfast, arranged for the staff to make a Birthday Cake, and gave me a Voucher for the Spa. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and Diogo was hilarious and made the trip fun. Pestana Casino Studios is literally a 20 second walk from Pestana Casino Park Hotel, where you can use all the facilities. I also loved being able to help myself to the small glasses of wine at the Hotel Reception. I'd highly recommend Pestana Casino Studios/Pestana Casino Park Hotel, and will definitely go back. The staff at both places were attentive, friendly, and helpful, and I’d happily return. We stayed at Pestana studios, where the rooms were comfortable and a good size, with everything we needed, including a little kitchenette and fridge. There’s a pool on the first floor, and guests can also use the facilities at pestana casino park hotel, including its rooftop and garden pools, gym, and spa. Breakfast is there too, just a two-minute walk away. The architecture is great, and the casino hotel’s garden and pool area feels lush and peaceful. The studios are in the old center, with restaurants and markets around a 20-minute walk away, and a bus stop right outside.

We’ve just arrived for a 14-night stay in a deluxe studio apartment, and I’m already very disappointed. The bathroom is gloomy and badly lit, and the room overall feels shabby and dingy, as though it’s overdue for a deep clean and fresh decoration. More than half the floor is carpet, and it’s filthy, with stains everywhere. I also had to clean dark green slime from inside the kettle before we could use it. I plan to complain at reception today, though I don’t expect they’ll give us a cleaner room. We’ll see, but I won’t come back.
